A Jewish educator for over 30 years, Candy has taught in programs as diverse as
Mommy & Me, day school, Hebrew school, Jewish Center camp and community
programs, and the Melton Adult Mini School. Her projects have included
development of teacher resource centers, teacher training, design and direction
of synagogue schools, and leadership of regional and national Jewish educator
conferences. Through the years, her unique programs have won local and national
awards and grants. A staff columnist for the Dayton Jewish Observer, Candy has
won both state and national awards for her writing about family issues. In
addition to being honored with Dayton’s Jack Moss Creativity Award for
Innovations in Jewish Education, and United Synagogue’s silver award for family
programming, she is a 2005 winner of the national Grinspoon-Steinhardt Jewish
educator award.
